This Privacy Notice explains how My CV Optimizer ("we", "us", "our"), operating the service My CV Optimizer (the "Service"), collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal data. My CV Optimizer is the data controller responsible for your personal data.

1. Personal data we collect

  • Account data: email address and login credentials used to create and access your account.
  • Content you upload: the documents (resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn summaries, personal statements, bios) and the context you provide (target role, field, tone, descriptions) so the Service can generate an optimization.
  • Usage and telemetry: interactions with the Service, credit balance and consumption, device and browser information, and IP address.
  • Support data: messages you send us when you request help.

Your uploaded document is processed to produce your optimized output and is not retained after processing.

2. How we use your data and legal basis

  • Creating and maintaining your account and providing the Service — performance of a contract.
  • Processing your documents and generating optimizations — performance of a contract.
  • Security, fraud prevention, and protecting the Service — legitimate interests.
  • Improving the Service and customer support — legitimate interests.
  • Marketing communications, where applicable — consent.

3. Data sharing

We share personal data with:

  • Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, for processing payments, subscription management, tax compliance, and invoicing.
  • Service providers / subprocessors such as hosting, database, AI processing, and analytics providers who help us operate the Service.
  • Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where necessary.
  • Authorities where required by law.

4. Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes set out above. Uploaded documents are processed transiently and not stored after the optimization is produced. Account and transaction records are retained as long as your account is active or as required for legal and accounting obligations, then deleted or anonymised.

5. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, request portability, and withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

6. Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls, and authentication, to protect your personal data.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies required to operate the Service (such as keeping you signed in) and may use analytics cookies to understand usage. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.
